Well I knew this was bound to happen but I had my first bad run day.  Yesterday's easy run was hard and I am wondering if I am a little sick.  My throat has been sore and my mouth was extremely dry.  I felt hot (it was really warm anyway 73 degrees) but I just felt hot.  I struggled warming up but after 2 miles just decided to go for it.  I was suprised that my pace started to fast but I couldn't hold it and faded towards the end of the first set.  I took full advantage of the recovery and only ran a little in the ten minute easy pace.  I knew after the first half mile of the second set that I wasn't going to hold the pace so I just ran at the pace that my legs and heart gave me.  I was in more pain in my foot and started to feel the other foot getting sore too.  I felt a little gut ache every 5 minutes or so but not killing me.  I also felt labored breathing like it was hard to get a deep breath in so I just didn't breathe in deep.  Clearly not my day.  The pebbles in the road felt like boulders, the rises in the road felt like mountains, the wind gusts felt like a hurricane, and my legs were churning through quick sand.  Brutal day.

After the last interval I walked for a short stretch and my legs felt stiff and achy but not painful.  It was weird.  Different than lactic acid they felt more like they would when you have the flu.  My heart rate recovered in a couple of minutes and the last mile or so was difficult to get in a rhythm.  My feet still hurt and my legs are achy and I feel a little tired but that might just be the early start time.

On a positive note.  I felt like I was able to push through the difficult spot and was happy that I was still running faster than MP.  I didn't feel injured.  I didn't feel over trained.  Mentally I had accepted that it wasn't going to be my best day and finishing the workout was my goal.
