Personal:

Married, with 1 daughter

IT Analyst/Programmer for 20 years. Also, an avid gardner with a small retail nursery on the side.

I've been a runner most of my life. I started running in 5th grade when the high school coach started a "run for fun" program at all the grade schools in the school district. Also, growing up my neighbor, who was about 8 years older than me, was a superstar in high school with a 4:15 1600m in the early 80s. So I had some good role models.

Most important, I love the Lord, and serve Him in my church and in Bible Study Fellowship, which is an international Bible Study open to people of all church backgrounds (i.e. interdenominational). If you are looking for a phenomenal way to study the Bible and draw closer to God this is the study for you. Check out BSFInternational.org to find a class near you. They are all over the place!

Feeling really good the day after the race. Not sore, not tired. I don't feel nearly as tired as I do after a hard workout or long run. Looking forward to my next race, on a mostly flat fast course!

2:01, 2:03

4 miles of light tempo run. This was closer to marathon pace than anything else. My left hamstring is still being a problem. In fact it is getting tigter and a little sorer. I'm contemplating backing off for a bit to see if that helps. I hate to do that!

Splits: 6:41 - 6:53 - 6:44 - 6:37

I started out with a bad case of low blood sugar, so the first couple miles were around 8:45/mile. After the sugar levels caught up I was able to run closer to 8.

AM - 3 miles in 22:41(7:34/mle). Feeling good this morning. It was colder, around 45, but the sun came out and it was nice. Probably didn't even need the jacket.

AM - Easy 3 miles in 24:32. My left ham is definitely getting worse. I may have to bite the bullet and ease off for a while.

PM - 7xLM, 8  miles in 1:01:27 on Vickory route

Left hamstring is definitely going the wrong way. I think I may take an extra easy week next week and see what happens. Grrrrr.

12.51 miles in 1:37:04 (7:45/mile)

It was supposed to be another nice sunny day today, but instead it decided to rain. Oh well, it was a nice run anyway. Even my hamstring didn't bother me much today. Looks like I had an unintentional progression the first half of the run. That's probably because the rain was getting steadily harder and I wanted to get home.

I believe this was my first 70+ mile week ever!
