Personal:

I'm married to a very supportive, although slightly less enthusiastic runner than I.  Alisha has run a little with me and participated in several 5k's, but mostly she supports me at races.  She ran her first half in November, 2011.  We have a son who was born in 2010, the year that I ran my first marathon.  I participated in my first Triathlon in April 2011.  I think I may have been bitten by the Ironman bug.  Though an Ironman finish is a long term goal, I want to BQ first.

I find that the more I run the more I want to run.  I consider my self a running addict.  I like the motto: pain is weakness leaving your body.

AP 7:47.  52 degrees.  Nice and misty.

I'm calling this a Strava Segment run.  I ran to the Creek trail where I created a Strava segment some time back.  My goal today was to run the easy two miles up to the two mile segment, and then run the segment as fast as I could.

I finished the 2.1 mile distance in 13:34 at a 6:26 AP.  I beat my previous time on this segment, and am currently in 2nd place on the leader board.  In reality I'm in first place because somebody named Chuck McAbee uploaded his data from a bike ride and did not categorize his workout as such.  So it looks like he ran the distance in 8:41, when really he rode that distance.

Sounds like you are coming along well on your recovery now. That Chuck guy is a cheater! Unless he is a world class runner...

I don't know if you've used Strava, but you might check it out if you haven't. If you set it up as a 'runner' it automatically logs all your workouts as runs. You have to manually change them to rides. So my assumption is that he just needs to go in and change his. Otherwise you're right and he is a world class runner.

Yes my recovery is going well. What's next for you, Boston?

For me, I am going to try and PR in the Houston Half in January - a little dubious that will happen with such a short run-up, but maybe. Then Boston in April.

What about you, what's next?

I'm looking at Oklahoma City for sure. Between now and then I haven't decided yet. Houston should be fun.
