My friend Kris picked me up at 5:30 am and we drove to Wachusett mountain for some running. The first 3.2 miles on the summit road were a real grind. I was feeling pretty gassed when we reached the top. With the majority of the climbing behind us, we started to descend and ended up taking a wrong turn which brought us to the other side of Wachusett. We back tracked and got back on course. I had a super fun time and would love to do some more exploring of the area. The temperature and views were ideal.
After yesterday's climbing, my legs were feeling pretty dead. I was surprised to be moving as well as I was today, if even for the short effort. 6:59 avg.
Right at the one mile mark, my calf felt like it was cramping severely. I stopped and tried to stretch it out, but to no avail. With the way it feels just walking, I'm thinking a couple of days off.... at least. Bummer...
