Short 5 today because of a new pair of shoes.  I got a pair of Saucony Mirages.  I like them so far.  These are the shoes I'm planning on running Utah Valley in so I better like them. I also got a late start because I couldn't get to sleep last night.  I don't know why.

I missed yesterday because I just blew it off.  I got up just after 4 and we had the windows open so it was freezing in the house.  It also sounded like the wind was howling.  I didn't want to run in freezing wind.  I stepped outside and it actually wasn't too bad and I was disappointed.  So I went back to bed anyway.

I only got 148 miles last month.  I wanted a whole bunch more.  I'm shooting for 200 this month but I'm off to pretty bad start.

Your comment made me think of sesame street- I'd be less like the count & not worry about the numbers. Try & be more like cookie monster and big bird. Enjoy eating trash, and have fun with your imaginary friends!

Chad ~ am glad you got new shoes! How do you like 'em? yes, the wind was very nasty on Mon. You were smart to go back to bed! I see you made it up today (Wed)! Keep up the good work

Smooth - So far so good on the shoes but 5 miles is way too early to tell. But I better like them, they're my marathon shoes. I went outside at 4:30 when I got up and it seemed that the wind sounded worse than it was. I feel guilty over going back to bed. But one day won't make a difference. I just need to make sure it doesn't become a habit. In the past when my planned miles start to climb I do just that. I start skipping runs. I need to resist that temptation.
