Good run this morning.  I put 3 slow miles in the Altras this morning.  I can tell that I shouldn't be putting in big consecutive miles in them.  I can feel my ankle starting to ache a little while in them.  The good news is that it only lasts during the run.  I'll put 3 more in them on Wednesday.

Glad you've found a way to love them despite not being able to pound out the miles in them. Nice job Chad.

You're working into the Altras smart and keeping the miles low to build slowly. Everyone I know that goes minimal has to learn to make that adjustment slowly.

Kind of like learning to run all over again.

I'm sure a donut will help your ankle feel better- give it a try Wednesday just to see!

I never would have considered donut therapy. I need to try that one.

My doc and I had a nice little discussion about minimalistic shoes. The transition takes a long time to adapt. Keep being patient with it.

Donut therapy is not just for cops anymore? :)

Chad, I think ice cream therapy is better. Icing from the inside out. 2nd best is donut therapy.

RAD, I saw what ice cream therapy did to you the last time a saw you. You were complaining of an upset stomach the entire time. I going to go with QP.

Smooth, its good to hear you're on the fast track to getting better. As for the minimalist shoes, I definitely jumped into them too fast, way too fast actually. I'm taking it nice and easy, little by little this time. I'm not going to give up because I absolutely love running in them.

touche! However, I won't guarantee the donut diet won't do the same :)
