Nice morning with temps in the 40s. Since today is kind of like what would normally be the Saturday before the race I went for one last semi long run. I ran 15 miles out the highway and up and down the 2 big hills which makes for about 600 ft total climb and 600 ft drop. I averaged 7:43 pace for the first 7 miles then 7:14 pace for 8 miles. The 14th mile was up one of the big hills and I ran it in 7:58 and the last mile in 6:47. Those last 2 felt a bit harder than marathon pace. I ran this run a bit faster than I had planned but it all felt pretty comfortable until the last 2 miles. The little bit of tapering that I started last week must be helping. This was my last harder run before the marathon and everything is still feeling pretty good. I guess you could say the hay is in the barn at this point with just a few easy runs left this week. 15 miles at 7:28/mile ave.

We drove up to the Pennsylvania farm house today which is one of my favorite places to run. I did some laps on the very hilly 2.37 mile loop. I ran a couple of miles at 7:44 pace then did a lap at 6:48 pace. Then 3/4 miles at 7:58 pace.
