This morning I went on a 17.5 mile run up past the reservoir. I got started a little late and the temperature got up to 80. I dunked my shirt in the water 2 different times and it made the run quite bearable. I was a little worried about my right calf which had been a little sore most of the week since last weekends race and was planning to cut back the distance if it started getting sore but it was fine. I ran the first ten at 8:28 pace and picked it up a little faster to 7:52 pace for the next 7. Overall pace was 8:13. That was my first run this year over 15 miles.

What reservoir did you run up to? As you know I used to live up there and often wonder where you are running. I think I you have mentioned Weston a couple of times too and I have a grandma and uncle that live out in Dayton, they are Coburns. They live right along that highway that goes north to south at the foot of the mountain with the "WS" on it. I think they call it rattle snake mountain.

Jeff, do you know where Winder reservoir is? It's just north of preston and it's about 4 miles from my house. Thats where I do most of my runs that are over 6 miles. A loop I like to do on my mountain bike takes me past both Winder reservoir and treasureton reservoir. I do go out to Weston canyon sometimes for hill work and run the 3 mile stretch from the reservoir up and down. I guess we just have a lot of reservoirs around here.

Wow!! You are quite a ways north of Preston. I have never been to Winder reservoir but I can see it on mapquest. We always used to go skiing out at Glendale reservoir so I kinda know the area. Nice place to run.
