Went over to Weston canyon this morning to get some uphill and downhill running. There's a 3 mile section I like to run that's a nice gradual grade [around 300 foot climb]. I had planned to do a workout. After a warm up mile I started a tempo run but could tell I just wasn't feeling it today so I just kept the whole run easy and ran 2 miles less than planned. I haven't been getting enough sleep and I think it's catching up to me. I also lost about 4 pounds on Monday and haven't gained much of it back yet so I may be a bit dehydrated. Either way I don't think I have been recovering well from my last few runs. I've got to focus on getting enough sleep and eating and drinking like I should. 8:12 pace overall for 8 miles.

I'm right with you on the sleep and dehydration. I went to bed at 1:00 last night and got up at 6:00. About five hours of sleep has been typical for the last month or so. It's been so hot and humid down here that I lose at least 6 pounds on an 8 mile run (I only weigh 160). It's been really draining the energy out of me and it takes all day to get the fluids back in.
