The big storm this morning mostly missed us. The 20 MPH winds we had this morning didn't seem bad at all compared to what they were getting a little ways south of here along the Wasatch Front. They recorded gusts of 102 mph in Centerville. It was 22 deg when I left so I had to go with the long pants this morning for the second time this year. I actually dressed the same way I would for sub zero temps. I think I prefer running at -15 deg without the wind. I'm glad we don't get a lot of wind here in the winter. I ran 9 miles and just had no energy this morning. I have had low energy on my runs lately but felt better than I had in a long time during yesterdays run. After the 10 miles yesterday, I went pheasant hunting and spent a couple of hours hiking through some pretty steep gullies. My legs felt pretty tired last night so I'm guessing this had something to do with it. The second half of the run got really bad and I had to stop and sit down to rest a couple of times. Even with a strong tailwind the last couple of miles I was barely under 9 min pace. I haven't felt this bad on a run in quite a while. 9:23 AP

You must have made a typo...you really didn't mean -15 did you? This run sounds like the one I had last Saturday...I'm sure you'll feel better in a couple of days.

No typo. I usually get to run in temps like that or colder a few times each winter. It's usually dead calm here when it gets that cold and as long as I dress properly I don't mind it. Just expect to be slow.

I hope I bounce back as quick as you did. Your bad run was twice the distance though. I feel like a wimp.

Come on! Too many details about your running, and not enough about your pheasant hunting! J/K. Hope you got some, and hope you don't shoot your shotgun like I shoot mine! :-)

Sorry about leaving out the important details:-) I got 2 big roosters in the first 20 minutes. Spent the rest of my time trying to find a 3rd to fill by limit without success. It was the last day of our 2 month season. They get harder to come by at the end.

So is your blog title like "fish on!" or does it have another meaning.

Any roosters Dave? I saw a bunch in Wyoming last week. I rifled a nice 11 point whitetail. I am running a little but have been hampered by Hernia. Surgery scheduled for 12/12, hope to be back in time to run st. george half [Painter] Talk to ya later, Jim

Awesome about the buck. Bummer about the hernia. I'll have to give you a call and get more details.

You are correct -- Fish On! Although, the past couple of years I've fished less and less. It's funny what a couple of kids will do to free time (soccer tourney's, events, etc.). Plus add in a regular running/training regiment! I tend to enjoy hunting more and more, for sure. I went to NE a few weeks ago for pheasants and will be going again in a week.

Sorry about the run but at least you had a good day hunting. I am sure you will be back to normal quickly.
