did you read Jon's discussion post about the tou half? It looks like it has quadrupled in size in 3 years. I ran it last in 2006 and don't think there were more than 5 or 6 hundred. Now it is 2000. If I had known I probably wouldn't have signed up, I am not really into big crowd races, I liked the local flavor back in 2006. I could just as easily have my wife drop me at the hydro park and run home and save 30 bucks. Maybe we should start our own competing FRB half.

Wow, that's crazy. Isn't that about what they get at the TOU marathon? I guess we'll just have to start near the front and outrun everybody.

yeah, it is going to be really crazy. I will be surprised if they start less than 30 minutes late. and yes, we will have to be sure to get near the start, as there is no order for lining up, and even walkers will be packing in up front at the very narrow start (one lane of the road). kind of a mess but oh well, good for the race overall I guess.
