Was able to get out at noon today while it was nice and sunny but only 24 deg.  There was a slight breeze but not too bad so I went with shorts today. The plan was for a 2 mile warmup then an 8 mile progression tempo. Started with the first 2 miles in 7:48 and 7:32. Then went into the 8 mile tempo: 6:58, 6:59, 6:52, 6:49, 6:49, 6:55 slight uphill, 6:35,6:15.  Average pace for the 8 miles was 6:46. I was pretty happy with this workout. It is the first one that felt decent since Sept. Not so much that the paces were that fast but more the comfort level while running them. I've still got a long way to go in the next 4 weeks but at least I felt like I was headed in the right direction today. Overall pace for all 10 was 6:57.

Looks like a good run to me. I wish I could run in the cold like that! Tomorrow I'm attempting a 6 mile Tempo Run at 7:00 pace. I've only done that speed and distance racing before.

Thanks. Good luck tomorrow. If it goes as well as your last couple of workouts, I'm sure you'll nail it.

That's great you were able to get out and take advantage of the afternoon. Those are awesome splits and you still cranked it down a couple notches for the last 2!

Have a Merry Christmas!!
