A cool start but it was going to warm up to the 70s so I started in a singlet. I was drinking well downing a bottle in between aid stations, but I should of drank more and downed more salty food as I dehydrated to the point of almost no return. I went through the first 50k in 5:30. My second lap I walked 10 miles. I drank a bottle of water at the aid station and finally scarfed down some real food and they started putting out pickles these helped me tremendously. I was back running again. I ran well most of the next 15 miles even though it was dark. I'm glad I got this in and received my 500k jacket I can put this race to sleep. 3 weeks to recover before the 100 miler at Rocky Raccoon. |
