41 minute recovery run @ about 9:00s. Probably have strained a muscle in the back of my left knee where the ham comes into the knee (probably did on Sat.)

8 mile run in 57 minutes today. 12:30pm and 48 degrees. 3 miles in 21:46, 2.2 @ E-pace, 2 miles in 13:00, 1 mile @ E-pace.

Am: 9:15 and 40 degrees. 50 minutes at Castlewood Park. Up and down hills, over tree roots, stones, etc. Brutal and hilly trail run. Time for the run is near 8:00s, but the workload is anything but easy.

 

PM: 5 miles in 35 minutes -- 3.5 mile slightly below 7s, 1.5 miles slightly above 7 for an average of 7s.

12:30pm and 50 degrees. 16 miler today on Grants Trail. The trail is flat as a pancake for its entire length.  1st 7 miles @ 7:40 average, next 4.5 miles @ 7:05 average. Last 4.5 at 7:45 average. I took 1 Gu at the 7 mile mark during this run and the 7:05 pace felt very comfortable in the beginning. I held this pace for 6 miles and then slammed into a wall where I backed down to maybe a 8:30 mile for a couple miles, but was able to focus my finishing mile back to 7:30. I had planned on the water fountains being accessible during the run, but they were off so I had no access to water during this run. I should also have taken a 2nd Gu at the 12 or 13 mile mark.
