Streets and sidewalks were slushy today, so instead of risk a potential slip, I hit the dreadmill. I'm writing this 2 days later and the irony is I irritated my ankle somehow. I hate dreadmills and mostly only use them to do progressive threshold work. Started at 7:50/mile and increased the pace by 10s/mile every 1/2 mile. Did this down to a 6:40, quick cool down, 5 minute break and then did it again starting at 7:30/mile. I also have a theory about dreadmills that I will post on the discussion board under that topic. The short of it is I believe that a given pace on a treadmill is more difficult aerobically than the same pace on the road. |
