LM warmup, 14.13 miles in 1:57:15, 8:18/mi, HR 163 & stretching. Sunny and hot (78F). Felt much warmer than 78. Did some extra hip strengthening and stretching this morning, then took some extra time to do a longer warmup with some more hip work before the run. Marginally better, meaning still tight but mostly just weak, so I spent the early miles concentrating on running relaxed and steadily without stopping to walk/stretch as I've been doing lately. By the 3.5 mile mark, the legs started gradually loosening up, and while the speed didn't increase much, I did manage the entire 7 mile climb and return without a walk break (aside from a quick 2-step to down some water without choking). Legs eventually got tired all around and the body followed (especially the shoulders). Tried to speed up to something resembling a sprint for the final .13. More stretching and strengthening afterwards. |
