8 miles in 1:00:26, 7:33/mi, HR 156.  First mile was a bit rough with some residual leg fatigue but shook that off and settled into a good pace.  Concentrated on belly breathing and fuller strides after noticing issues with both items recently.  Wound up with a nice moderate paced run.

Nice workout! Thanks again for your comments on my blog. After much thought, I have decided that certain other points of view were, ahem, less than logical to me. ;)

I understand....or rather, didn't really understand too. If most of the successful elite marathoners run their best races negative splitting the courses, how is blowing up and suffering through the end but having banked time a good idea? I don't know either. Nor do I care to explore the option any more than I already have :). I do agree though that if you train to go a bit below your BQ time, you'll appreciate the cushion for those race-day challenges....I still haven't figured out how to run a marathon that even meets my "potential" according to those online calculators, even though I can pretty consistently do it when in racing shape for all other distances. My last was the best and I still had a couple of minutes difference.

Sorry I tend to get a bit long-winded in my comments, but I'm not real good at the short & sweet platitudes. You ran a really good race and I think learned some valuable lessons in the process and *that* is probably more important than what your finishing time was IMAO. I think you're well on your way to a BQ time. Just keep at what you're doing, every once in a while try something new (keep things fresh), and you'll keep heading in the right direction.

Of course, I'm probably completely full of it and don't have a clue what I'm talking about! Buyer beware!!!
