6.5 miles in 46:46, 7:11/mi, HR 153.

A tad aggressively paced easy miles.  Must've been trying to beat the heat.  In the time I ran it rose from 65F to 69F.  May not sound too warm but in the sun it was uncomfortable.  Plus, I finally inspected the top of my head with a mirror and discovered to my absolute horror that I have.......a bald spot!  My wife calls it a circle of thinning hair but I believe it has officially crossed over the thin line to officially balding.  I am SO not happy about that.  Plus, it tends to heat up my head when exposed to direct sunlight.

Adrenaline 8 - 523.68 miles.

4 miles in 30:16. 7:34/mi, HR 145.

Surprise (not!).  Legs were a bit tired from this morning.  The two uphill miles were the worst...on the return not so bad.  Warmer (76F) but in the shade.  Thanks to everyone for the support of me and my newly christened bald spot during this traumatic time.

Dale, if you just start to shave it like me it won't matter. Our family genes are both good and bad; unfortunately, we both got that bad portion! Good running and tell Dianna to keep the positive vibes going. hehehe :) Good running.

Nice pic! The long-awaited/coveted baton...

From Dale on Thu, Sep 11, 2008 at 17:03:24

Thanks Aaron. I learned in college that I was pretty ugly as a bald guy. I showed Dianna some pics of me and my shaved head back then and she thought I was kidding about it being me...

Yes, all hail the baton. I'm thinking of getting a couple of lights installed enhanced the viewing area and possibly setting up a live webcast 24/7 for those that wish to keep up-to-date on the baton.....

It's nice we have our wives to put a positive spin on things to make us feel better :)

Welcome to the club! I was in denial for a couple of years...however, I still look in the mirror and see a full head of hair.

I find that I release a lot of heat out of my bald spot. When I eat spicy food for example, I'm sure to find the top of my head moist with sweat. Ah, the joys of male pattern baldness!

Oh well, at least one of us looks decent enough with a shaved head. I agree with JD, it's much cooler when you have no hair! :) One of the few joys we have with no hair.

Nice picture. Wish I had one of those.

I hear someone is selling them on Ebay on the cheap....
