Cooler, cloudy and a bit of rain today.  MP miles okay.  Left shin still painful to start out so I guess I'll resign myself to dealing with it on Saturday.  Woke up with my head draining something fierce and some throat irritation and coughing today.....probably because yesterday hit record highs and the pollens were unleashed.  But if those are my only problems for Saturday, everything will be fine.

Reviewed the notes from my last marathon.  Good thing too, because I've evidently forgotten a few things.  First off, no more negative thoughts.  Gone, banished, goodbye.  Secondly, refer to #1.

Okay, finally outloud.  My goals for Saturday are:

  1. Break 3 hrs (again).
  2. PR.
  3. Break 2:55
  4. Outperform predicted 2:53:54 based on best tune-up race this cycle (last weekend's 20K)

Good luck with the race. Seems like you're ready for a great performance and will likely attain most if not all of your goals.

I think I get the aches and feelings of getting a cold every single time during taper right before the marathon.
