Toughest run I have done in a while. Ran from the bottom of Deer Vally Resort in Park City, up over Guardsman Pass and down to Midway and then toward Heber. The whole run would be about 21 miles, but I stopped at the river at 19 and had Erica pick me up in the car. I needed to ice the legs in the cold water.

Felt okay for the first 10 minutes (no joke), and then struggled until about 30 minutes. At this point, there was a little downhill for a 1/4-1/2 mile. The rest of the first 6.5 miles was straight uphill with almost no breaks whatsoever.

At 45 minutes I considered turning around and running back down to the van in PC but I figured I won't get many chances to go the distance, so I took a GU and kept running. No water up there, that didn't help. Oh, and I started at 3:30 -- what a moron.

Made it to the top, got some strange looks from cars, and then down the Ragnar side of the mountain. I was at about 1:02 when I got to Guardsman. Running downhill was easier but was rough on the legs. It seemed forever down, but I made it to the Visitor Center at the State Park in 1:51 (so I ran just over 6:00 on the way down). Then I ran about 2.5 miles into Midway, found a hose, got some water, and ran toward Heber. At this point, things were getting ugly, it was hot, and I was toast. I ran with my phone and called Erica and she came and got me. THankfully.

Couldn't east for a couple hours but am okay now.

Oh, and I'll probably never run that again.

What a run! Good job! I've always wanted to start in Midway and go up over the pass down into PC.

Wow. That is one crazy tough run! That downhill into Midway is hard on the legs.
