AM - In the middle of the run I was watching the news and saw no school, snow day, so I decided to run a bit further than I had planned on because I didn't have to be home to get them ready for school. 9 easy in right around and hour than MP for the last 3 to finish up. Didn't want to go to hard because of speed work out tomorrow.

PM - 8 easy shake out run. Since I am now "living" on the TM I've found out that band aides work a lot better than body lube.

Speed workout should be done on a track not treadmill...with that said I needed to do 8x600x400. The TM at the gym doesn't have the little track picture like some so I did 8x.4x.25 which is a little long but it was a number I could do in my head as I ran.

3 mile warm up 22:30

5.2 (31:05) I used 10.9 (5:30) as .4  and 9 (6:40)  as .25 for my speed and float. It got pretty hard on the last one. I know I'm having trouble when I have to count to take my mind off whatever is going on. Which brings me back to why I like a track better. I can at least have a visual to focus on instead of the wall. At least I hit my splits perfect I guess.

3 mile cool down 22:30

One thing I think is funny about the Hanson's plan is that you have to read the fine print on the bottom  that most runs should have a WU and CD so it adds quite a bit to their recommended mileage. I think it would be better stating the WU/CD in the plan and use actual mileage so people know what they should be doing.

I really need a house...........

The plan for today was to skip school and head to Targhee but my kids all thought they had to go to school. I think skiing 3' of powder would be a great lesson for the day but no the only one on board was my 6 year old and my wife wouldn't let me take just him. Who raised these kids???

So, I put spikes on my shoes and had a leisurely run outside on the ice and drifting in roads. It was great to run outside but a bit miserable when heading uphill into the wind, avoiding drifts and especially hard ice.

Still a bit sore and tired from yesterday.

3 WU(22:30) 6@MP (38:23) 3 CD (22:30) I thought this might be a bit tough after the warm up and first couple of miles, then I settled in and it just kind of clicked. I forgot band aides and had to use body lube. I get much better results with band aides but at least now I'm so used to it, it doesn't hurt or maybe I've worn out the nerves.

I had zero motivation to run today. Still a little blasted from yesterday. Somehow made it to the gym. After a few miles I settled  in and felt good. Didn't push pace just ran more or less a normal TM pace. Need to get some energy so I don't feel tired tomorrow skiing.
