So I give a full report when I get home. I knew at some point in this race I would blow up. Training has been so sofit the last couple of months. Wheels started falling off around 10. Pace slid pretty drastic got passed by 2 people during this stretch. Held on barely. Huge PR but the course lends itself to that.

My Bro Lo Matt Simmons asked me to do this with him and I even tried to back out of this two weeks ago because my running has been non existent as of late. Matt had in mind he wanted to run a 1:32 which was a pretty high goal for his first half ever so when we got to the starting line I told him to go run with the 1:30 pacer. He ended up coming in just ahead of them and ran a 1:29:26. Way awesome. My plan for this race had been to go out at a 5:30 pace and see how long I could hold it. I figured I'd blow up because of the lack of miles but wanted to take the chance. Gun went off and 7-8 guys went out ahead of me and I didn't want any part of that pace so I stuck to my plan 1-5:31 perfect first mile 2-5:36 ok maybe I couldn't hold it but passed a couple of people 3-5:21 4-5:09 ran a couple of miles with John Rosswog. We were talking the whole time but in the middle of mile 6 I told him the pace was a little fast for me and good luck then I dropped back. 5-5:18 6-5:34 7-5:27 8-5:37 9:5:47 I could tell finishing was going to be hard 10-6:12 here comes the slide I was hurting and just trying to stay close to MP 11-6:21 got passed by Steve Hooper and had no attempt at trying to stay with him 12-6:26 why didn't I run more was all I was thinking 13-6:33 got passed by Christina Perry the women's champion. I was ticked but couldn't do anything my legs were just gone. I had no speed left .1-:34 Can't be mad at a 1:15:22 but gave up at least 2:00 in the last 4 miles because of lack of training. Huge PR but I figured it would happen but thought I'd be closer to a 1:17. I've come so far this year and hit times I didn't think I was going to run. Still learning a lot about myself and running. I think I could go sub 1:13 if not faster but I need to just keep doing what I'm doing and having fun. No more races this year unless I get a crazy idea at the last minute.
