Move into endurance mountain biking and trail triathlons (xterra, etc)

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running. Move into triathlons and get stronger. Keep succeeding at half marathons and the occasional marathon.

Personal:

I know Sasha from the CS program at BYU. We both graduated in 1997. He probably doesn't remember me, because he was definitely more vocal in class and among the students than I was.

Married to Teresa with 3 kids: Anders (4), Kristian (9), and Zoe (12).

Fluent in Danish, but there is obviously very little need for that.

Trail run. Up to Ghost Falls in Corner Canyon (Draper). From my house it's about 4 miles each way, and about 6 of those miles are single-track trail.  I took my time.

AM: Short tempo run, doing 3 miles at marathon pace after a 1 mile warmup. I cut it short for intervals this evening. I've been implementing the stretching we talked about on Saturday, and I'm noticing some results. We'll see what difference 3 weeks makes.

PM: Did 4 miles at the Oval: 6x50 sprints and 6x300 intervals.

AM: Somewhat easy run on the trail. The weather was very nice and warm. I came back on a dirt trail that parallels the paved Porter Rockwell trail. I heard someone calling my name, so I took off my headphones and said "hi" to a neighbor of mine named Pascal. He's a consistent 1/2 marathon runner, and hopes to do his first marathon at St George this fall. 5 guys in my neighborhood signed up together- one of them is a 14 year old kid!

AM: Just did 3 on the paved trail and got some milk on the way home. Will be doing another 5.5 or so this evening.

PM: Did 5.5 with the group. We had myself, Andrea, Johnny, Tracy C, Natalie, Traci H, and Katherine there. Katherine is new to the area from New York.

The usual 6.5 on the paved trail loop. It had snowed during the night. Obviously, it's too late in the year for ice on the road, but it was still crazy.

AM: Didn't get up in time to do a run, so I organized my thoughts and wrote down notes for a hydration seminar I'm giving SaltLakeFit tomorrow. I'll try to get in a good run this afternoon.

PM: Ran from my house on the trails up towards Suncrest. I took Clark's Trail down. It just had one little patch of snow at the top, but that didn't even cover the whole trail. It's a lot of vertical to get up there, so I was tired by the end.

Went up to Emigration Canyon at 6:00. The group was meeting early. I had to get back down to Reservoir Park at 8:00 to give a hydration seminar to Salt Lake Fit. I did the first up up the the summit with the group, then did the second half at marathon pace down to the bottom.
