I gained 30 lbs. during the service and came back out of shape; however I knew that if the Lord wanted me to once again run competitively, he would bless me to return to fitness.
I graduated from Sky View High School in Smithfield, Utah. I currently run for Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Favorite Blogs: |

| | 1 mile warm up, then we did 5Xmile repeats with 2 min. rest/jog. They were supposed to be at Tempo pace, but the course+lots of wind made it difficult. Splits:5:09, 5:15, 5:17, 5:11 (I really pushed hard on this one), and 5:18. I was supposed to hit 5:05-5:09, so not as good as it should've been. Quads felt a little sore. After coach had us do 30 sec. on at mile race pace, and then 1 min. easy jog. We did this on the track, so I thought, why not just do a full 200m at make it one second longer? So I did that. Splits were usually 30s or 31s, but I hit 32 once and 29 on the last one. More of a cool down after.

| | Easy Pre-meet. I was going to run some more on my own, but didn't have time. It's okay, I'll get a good amount in tomorrow.

Quad meet at Box Elder (3.107 Miles) 00:16:04, Place overall: 1, Place in age division: 1 | | We ran most of the course but the last small loop for a warm up. Claire ran way too hard the first and was ahead of Sarah Feeny and the Box Elder girl the first two thirds mile or so. She had a pretty good race though, but got passed by two Ogden girls in the last 300m, so if she can close that gap she's going to kick trash at region. We stretched and did accelerations after cheering the girls on. (Box Elder, Bonneville, and Ogden all came to this meet.)
Race: I got a terrible start. Sad I can't even get a good one at a small meet. I was in first by the first 500m though. Mike Buckly(he ran hard yesterday, so for him running this fast today he did great) ran with me pretty much the whole race. After the first mile I decided to start pushing the pace a lot more, but Mike hung on. On the last mile I made a move, and dropped him a little, but just kept the same distance between. I ran 34 seconds faster than a few weeks ago, so that was a plus, but today I was supposed to push it more. I was really inconsistent on my pace, and jumped around a lot. I NEED to stop doing that and just commit to racing the whole thing.
Around a mile and a half cool down, possibly a little more, then 3 miles when I got home. First two were just under 12 minutes, and that felt like a good pace.

| | Mile warm up, then 2X1000m at I pace. with full recovery (3 min.) This went pretty bad. 3:01 and 3:00. It was muddy(still not a good excuse), then I ran 400s at R pace. First one I ran alone, then the next 3 I ran with Kyler and Tyson, and staggered it just enough to push me. 1:05, 1:02 (last 200m was 28. Inconsistent pace.) 1:02, 1:02. It was a bit downhill overall, but it was a little muddy in the area we did these, but not as much as where we did part of the 1000s. 400m recovery between them. Then 200m at R pace, with 200m recovery. Splits: 32, 30, 29, 29. These were fast, but I staggered it minimally, and Kyler and Tyson still were ahead of me. 1 mile cool down.

| | 4.2miles up the canyon a little ways, then going to the school to meet with some of the guys on the team. Only 4 of us showed up, Glen, Stockton, and Kyler. We ran to North Logan and back. It was 6.7miles
A little over 4 miles at noon. My legs still felt really good. Maybe this high mileage is paying off.
