Warm up, then a 400m at mile race pace, then 300m at F pace, then a 200m at race pace, with 900m and 600m in between them. My 400m was too fast, and instead of hitting the 1:04, I hit a 59. I slowed down a lot my last 100m, but I still had gone too fast for the rest of it. Then I ran then 300m, which I wanted to hit a 42 or under during. I hit a 41, so that was pretty good. After the 600m easy I did the 200m and it felt really good, but I wanted to hit a 26 because I haven't hit a 26 in a long while. I hit a 27, so it wasn't bad, but I would have liked to be a bit faster. After my cool down I did some core with the XC team.

Easy run today. Getting ready for Great Southwest.
Later I went on a mile run with my little brother. He needs to start running or doing something else that's active because he was complaining and hurting during the whole thing. He ran an 8:30 mile, but he was more tired than he should've been.

1 mile warm up, then 2X300m with 600 recovery at mile race pace, then 3X200m 1 at F pace, and 2 at mile race pace with 400m recovery. 300 meters were fast, one at 46 (goal 48), then the next 45. My first 200m was in 27(goal 27) and the others were 31 (Goal 31), and 29. 1 mile cool down afterward, which I timed just to see what it would be. It didn't feel hard at all, but it was 5:56. That's way too fast for the week of a race.

3after a long bus ride. Everyone else went 4, and did stretches, but Garrett, Vance and me decided to only do 3. I should've done only two though, that bus ride made my legs sore.

Great Southwest 4X800 (0.5 Miles) 00:01:59, Place overall: 7, Place in age division: 7 | | Too long of a warm up, practiced hand offs with Tyson from AF and Brady from Riverton. Tomy was signed up for this race, but no one told him about it, and he didn't have his spikes, jersey, or bib yet, so I was put in as the slowest guy on the team. I was the second one to run, and I messed up the hand-off. I started too early, and had to backpedal to make sure I got the buton(I don't know how to spell it). I got it in 2nd to last, and sprinted to catch someone, but I was passed as soon as I got it. I didn't know it then, but I was in last place. I slowly tried to catch people, and didn't until my last 200m. I really slowed down here because I wasn't mentally motivated for this race, except it was funny because I started passing 2 or 3 people. I gave the buton to Tyson, and he took off. Rory told me he had me at a 1:59 high, so that was great to finally go sub-2. Our team was the "C" Utah team and we finished 7th (top 6 medal) with our team going 8:05. After Garrett (who was on team A and took 2nd) and Vance (Team B and took 4th) and I went on a cool down for 1.5 miles, which was farther than I wanted for pre-meet.

Great Southwest 3200m (2 Miles) 00:09:32, Place overall: 2, Place in age division: 2 | |
This was possibly my worst run race this season, mentally, time-wise, and effort-wise. 2 miles warm up with Jordan Cross and later some of the other guys running it. I got my spikes, and thought of a different race strategy of sitting and kicking. That, plus the lack of sleep and not being excited to race really messed up my race. I just didn't want to run a PR and I didn't want to hurt, so I gave up before the race even started. I am very disappointed in myself because I should've raced it, not just ran it. I stuck behind someone, and we hit the mile at 4:45. This is where I should've taken off, but it hurt a little to go faster than that pace. I just didn't want to be out there racing, and I didn't pass him. I stuck behind him and we hit some really slow laps, ones that are my 5k pace. After Luis Martinez passed me with 600m to go, and the race was over. I just tried to kick it, but I didn't have a kick. It was terrible. I tried, but not as much as I should've. One thing that was good from this is race is that I learned a lot about myself, and what I need to do to race well. I need to eat well and get better sleep, and also remember how much I like to run.
After I went on a cool down on the field for around a mile and half, and then when we got to the hotel I went on a 4.5 mile run with Jordan because I just needed to clear my head. It was a scary run because it was at night and a lot of weird people were out at night.
