Am - 3 easy. Felt amazing
Pm- 4x1200m at 3:31 with 3 min. Easy jog in between. I was fast for the first one, slow on the fourth. After 2x1000m at same pace with same recovery. Good warm up and cool down. The wind started getting bad near the end, but it wasn't bad during the first half of the workout.
It's terrible what happened in Boston today. It's a big shock for everyone. | Add Comment |
| | 12 maybe. Ran with Kyler, Nick, Tyson, and Calvin for the first 4, then Kyler for the next 3 or 4, then alone for the rest. It snowed pretty easy for the first bit, but later it started hailing pretty hard. | Add Comment |
| | I found out yesterday was shorter than I thought. It was anywhere from 10.5 to 11. I'm leaning on the 11 side. Today at track we did pre-meet for the dual meet, but I decided it would be best for me at the end of the season to go farther, so I went another 5.5 when I got home. | Add Comment |
| | Track Dual meet today. I jumped in the mile right before it started, unsure if I was going to do it or not. I ran at my goal of 5:09 which is supposed to be my tempo pace. I ran 2:29 my first 800m, which actually felt like I was pushing. The rest felt pretty easy, and I think I ran a 5:06. During the last 100m Kyler was running behind me and sprinted way fast. After I did two miles, then the 800m. I wanted a 2:05, but I wasn't feeling any spring in my legs from these higher miles these last few days, and so it was a 2:08. AJ was right behind me the whole time, so that was good to have a push. My first 100m felt like a jog though, and it was way slow, due to the fact that I couldn't get out of the pack. AJ had it worse though. After I went on a 4 mile run. Now time to get ready for an invitational. Let's hope my legs have some more miles in them this week! | Add Comment |
| | Mack and back plus strides. Then dodgeball. My legs didn't feel much spring in them during the strides. Hopefully I'll still have a good race tomorrow. | Add Comment |

Around a mile and half warm up, then the 3200. I felt good before, but it was really rainy and a bit cold, and a tiny bit windy, but that wasn't near as bad as last week. We lined up and I made sure I got a good start. First lap wasn't as fast as it felt, but it was at a good pace. 1:05. Second lap was goal to be a 2:15. It was 2:15. Next laps were to just continue running 1:10s. 3:25. Right on. 1600: 4:36-7. One second slow, but I knew I had a bit of a coushion for the sub-9:20. I can't remember the next laps, but I knew I really slowed down on those laps. During these laps my arms started getting really cold. I didn't have anyone near me, and I just lost a lot of ground these next two cold laps. I lost focus just a bit, and I paid the price. With one lap to go I was at 8:15 ish. I had to sprint my last lap in a 65 to get a sub 9:20. I pushed it and got a 9:22. A bit disapointing, but with the weather and the high mileage this week I think it was a good race. After I ran the mile, which wasn't the best either. My goal was to run 4:18, but once the conditions got worse, I knew that wasn't going to happen. I ran my first 3 laps alone, then Tanner from Box Elder passed me with 250m to go, and I drafted off him for about 150, then tried to pass him in the last 100m I passed him and he slowed down a bunch, and I sadly did too. My time was around 4:27 I think, maybe 4:28.
After I cooled down, watched races, and ran in a 4X800m. I was our third leg, and when I started I was about 100m behind the second to last team. I bet my time was around a 2:20, but it felt good to run, because the sun had just came out for a few minutes.
PM- at 5 I saw I was short on my miles, and I really wanted to hit 50 this week, but during the first quarter mile my legs were aching, and begging to stop. Mostly my shins, but I tried to ignore it, and just go slow. After a little ways, my neighbor who was a runner from USU stopped me and we talked. He told me if my legs were hurting that much that I shouldn't try for extra miles. I figured he's probably right, and decided to cut the 3 mile run short and just do 1 mile. I just want to make sure I don't get injured this close to state and BYU. | Add Comment |
