| | We had track tryouts today. It sucked. It took up about 3 hours, and I only maybe (at most) got a half mile of running in. We did tons of drills, which none had anything to do with distance. During the first part I scraped my hand pretty bad, and then we had to do burpies. Not a very fun day with that. Then I got home around 6:15 and still needed to go for a run. I ate about a half (maybe more) loaf of french bread, and then went 5 tempo, then 5 easy. The tempo was at 5:34-35 pace on average, but the easy was way slow. Oh well. | Comments(1) |
| | I missed most of track tryouts because I had to make up a lot of work in a class. I was able to do the pacer at the end though, but I didn't feel too good after it. Not really like it was hard on my calves and quads, but almost everywhere else. I think it was mostly from the tryout yesterday. After I went home and did 8 miles. Felt terrible at first. Really stiff, but after mile 3 or 4 my body loosened up and it felt good. I hit a few sub-6 min. miles also, so that felt good. | Add Comment |
| | I was going to go tempo today, but I went to track tryouts, and coach write was there so we were able to do our distance workout. My legs have been getting worse from Monday, so I decided what coach had us doing was best. We did golf course. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be feeling good for a workout. | Add Comment |
| | I was still a bit sore from Monday, but my muscles I use for running felt great. I decided on 5 miles tempo, and my legs loved the first few miles. I pushed it, it hurt, but it also felt good. Kinda like a race. Splits: 4:55.9(downhill), 5:45.1(uphill), 5:21.8(uphill, then downhill.), 5:13.1(downhill), 5:33.7(uphill). Average pace: 5:22 I felt great about this run, and I'm pretty sure this is the fastest I've ran this course. After I did 3 miles cool down. Now my calves are sore. | Comments(1) |
| | Coach said we were going to do a time trial for the 1600 and the 3200 today, but not everyone was ready and stuff, so he said we were going to do it on Monday. Kyler still wanted to do it and wanted to break 5 minutes. He's been fit enough to do it, but just hadn't done it yet. So we did 3/4 a mile warm up, then Kyler put on his spikes, and ran a 4:56. I was pretty much the worst pacer, but he still broke it, so it's alright. After we did 1 and a half miles on the track, then tyson and I did 2 miles, then I had to run home with my backpack, and my bag full of clothes, because my mom couldn't pick me up, and I needed to shower before the basketball game. That was about 2 miles, but I walked some and it was very slow, so I'll count it as one. | Add Comment |
| | Not really a good day for running. I decided to go on a 5 mile tempo run, but my stomache and my legs both started hurting during the third mile and I had to end it at 4. My pace was slow for my fourth mile. After I cooled down back home, making it 5. After I was going to go 2 more, but my ride to the basketball game showed up and I had to hurry to get ready for that. I planned on running 2 miles when I got home, but we got home at 9 and I was already asleep. Oh well, maybe next week will be better. | Add Comment |
