Running Accomplishments:

Pre-high school: I ran a lot of local 5ks and a few half marathons.  I didn't do a ton of training, but I just had fun, and I got more serious about it as high school got closer.

High school: I enjoyed running a lot, especially cross country.  I originally did track to keep my in shape for cross country.  I ran at Footlocker Nationals, the Adidas Dream mile, Brooks PR Invitational, world xc junior championships, and a few local 5ks.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Make sure I have fun, not get burned out, and get faster.

School records in the 5km and 10km.

Personal:

Served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from July 2015-July 2017.  I gained 30 lbs. during the service and came back out of shape; however I knew that if the Lord wanted me to once again run competitively, he would bless me to return to fitness.

I graduated from Sky View High School in Smithfield, Utah. I currently run for Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

Conner,

I have a question for you.

I think I told you I am running a 1500 meter race in Japan in November. I am thinking of getting some spikes to wear. Was wondering if you could recommend a model. Most of the races I will be running will be 800 meter, 1500 meters and 5000 meters. Up until now I have just worn racing flats, but in my last race the track was wet and I slipped and almost wiped out, so I think maybe getting some spikes would be a good idea. I would appreciate any help you could give me.

PS. Great job in the race yesterday!

Thanks Mark, and with spikes, it's more of personal preference. If you're looking for something that is great for 5000m mostly, and occasionally the 800-1500m, I'd recommend the Saucony Kilkenny, but if you want something more aggressive then I would recommend the Nike victory xc 2. But again, these are just what have worked best for me in the past.

Thanks for the advice Conner. I will try out both types of spikes to see which fits me the best.

Good luck in this weeks race!

I recommend the spikes that look the most awesome.
