4 miles relatively hard. My aerobic system feels terrible after running somewhere in the ballpark of 10 or 15 miles in the last month thanks to the hip injury, so today (admittedly, on a very rolling course back in Minnesota) that was about 6:20 pace. :( I'm going in for MRIs in an hour, so I figured I'd stress the system a little bit beforehand. I ran with 2 ibuprofen in my system and it felt imbalanced, but not exactly painful. Similarly to Sunday's run, I could feel the imbalance almost immediately, but after a minute or two, it didn't get worse past that point. I can tell that my only problem, fitness-wise, right now, is just that I haven't really done much in a month. Other than my hip, my legs feel strong and if I could just hit a couple moderate effort runs to re-shock the system, I'd be back in decent shape quickly. Regarding Sunday's longer effort (if you can call it that for 7 miles), I was more sore than normal on Monday/Tuesday, so I obviously overdid it on Sunday, but honestly, I don't care. That run was awesome and I wanted some mountain time before coming back to the midwest. Based on the results of the MRIs today, we'll decide how to best go forward. If I had to guess, I'd expect that they're not going to see anything on the MRI and that I basically just have some imbalances to take care of, but we'll see. This makes me feel a little better about today's run: 1 more mile at the PT.
