15 min walking on treadmill.  Followed by 15 mins on our old rickety cheap elliptical.  Very suspenseful as you never know when the thing will just collapse completely.  I had better spend some time on a tune up.  I then jumped back on the TM for 10 more mins of walking.  I am not sure how much to do on the Elliptical as I am somewhat worried about it aggravating the leg.  I hear that it is not quite the same motion as running and therefore ok to do, but the main thing is if it hurts stop.  No hurting today, so I think I will do more of it.  I am able to get my HR up higher on that clunker than walking so it will be better for my fitness.

I am slightly slower than you are, 34 years old from Taylorsville. I'd just like to encourage you to have the guts not to push yourself when you're injured. You've probably heard of the professional Kenyans who take 2 months off during the year to let their bodies recover. This is very smart. Many profs at least take several weeks off between seasons. You PR'd from every distance from the mile to the marathon!! That is phenomenal. Your body deserves to rest. You can't just keep getting better all the time, you need some recovery, then you can climb a new mountain. Running is about training and recovery, the body must rest in order to energize for new heights. Hope this helps. I'll be at Dan's thanksgiving 5K, I'd love to meet you. Happy Thanksgiving

Thanks for the support Jesse. Look for me and my wife at the race. You might know my wife as she is from T-ville. I hope to see a blog from you on this site as well. Everyone is welcome!
