The key to winter running is doing it in the mountains. We (Paul and Dan and myself) had sweet weather/air conditions today as we ran in Blacksmith Fork canyon. I felt lousy today and wanted to curl up on the side of the road and cry. I did my best to maintian a decent pace and not slow them too much. I just didn't have it. (Overtain? Too much too fast? Too hard on easy days? Or a combination?).
I am pleased that my 1/2 marathon time today was the same as my 1/2 during the TOU marathon. Any 1/2 my run today was uphill. We started around the 6.5 mile mark and ran up near the start and back. I thought about catching the 7:00 guy for about 30 seconds and then gave up and fought to beat the "going to the hospital on a gurney guy" who was laughing at me just biding his time...
