Ran the YESCO- End of Paved River Trail Run with Dan today.  Wanted to get in some MP miles to see how they felt.  I decided to do the last half at MP to simulate being tired.  My goal was to run 7:00 miles out and 6:30-6:40 back.  I had the following splits:

Mile 1: 6:57 HR: 152

Mile 2: 6:55 HR: 165

Mile 3: 7:00 HR: 164

Mile 4: 7:02 HR: 164

Mile 5: 7:08 HR: 165

Mile 6: 6:38 HR: 171

Mile 7: 6:37 HR: 172

Mile 8: 6:34 HR: 171

Mile 9: 6:34 HR: 172

Mile 10: 6:16 HR: 173

It was such a great day to run.  Long sleeve shirt, shorts, no gloves, no hat.  I couldn't resist a fast finish.

Total Time: 67:39 (6:46mi)

Ave HR: 166

You have enough 5 K speed to run a marathon at close to 6:00 pace. I suggest working on holding 6:00 pace for as long as you can until you can do it for 12-15 miles. It will probably be a while before you can actually race the whole distance at that pace, but I suspect once you can do a 12 mile tempo at 6:00 on a flat course, you'll run 2:40-2:42 in Ogden.

I think that would be beneficial in a couple of ways. 6:00 about my 10K pace right now. If I do more threshold workouts, I can push that back until 6:00 is MP. That is a great goal to work towards. My main goal is to break 3 hrs this May at Ogden. I am doing the Striders series too to help work on speed and threshold pace.
