Very slow easy run + 10 x 10 sec. hill sprints. Average pace: 10:18. Shred level 2.

5:00 am, 26°F, 81% humidity, wind 7 W.

I don't know whether it was the cold or residual tiredness from Saturday's run, but I was really slow today. Splits were 10:39, 10:24, 10:22, 9:35, 9:43, 10:06. I was faster in the 4th mile because I was in a hurry to get to the rec center for a pit stop. It looks like I slowed back down after the pit stop, but wasn't quite as slow as I had been before. My paces were tolerable on the hill sprints, if not the fastest I've ever done: 7:12, 7:05, 6:42, 7:04, 6:49, 7:17, 6:53, 6:45, 7:05, 7:06.

It's back to the cold and dark for me now for the foreseeable future. And we seem to have skipped over Fall and straight into Winter around here.

Nice hill sprints! I think those killer hill paces make up for anything you think was lacking in splits - HOLY COW! I don't think I could do hill sprints that fast if I was flying!!

Sorry about having to jump back into cold and darkness...I feel your pain. Luckily I don't have to get up in as much cold and darkness quite yet.

Way to get it done! And I think your hill sprint paces look pretty speedy. As always I'm completely impressed with you dedication to get up and out in the cold dark days.

You are the definition of tough!

Looks like we'll be getting some old man Winter starting tomorrow for a couple of days.

You had great times on the sprints. It's hard to talk our legs into running on cold Monday mornings.

Your dedication is great!

Super nice run, especially considering your impromptu 20 miler on Saturday. Its going to be a long winter.

Isn't that how it always goes? Where is the in between weather? It is definitely cold in your neck of the woods. Any snow yet? We are supposed to get some tomorrow and Wednesday, JOY!

Have a good week.

Two words for you babe... Molasses Monday!

Kelli - we had a light dusting of snow on the grass when I ran this morning, but it's all gone now. We also had snow last Wednesday and we're supposed to get more snow this coming Wednesday.

Marion - I'm afraid it's turned into Miserable Monday.

You are very tough to keep going through all that. It's equivalent to a much faster run in nice conditions and you still managed some pretty speedy sprints.
