Tempo run. 2 miles warm-up, 4 miles at 1/2 M pace, 2 miles cool-down.

5:49 am, 44°F, 21% humidity, wind 6 S.

I held off blogging because I was going to do the shred after I got the kids off to school, but I took a nap instead. Maybe I'll try to do the shred this afternoon. I'm working from home today.

I listened to the soundtrack to Aida on my run this morning. I've never seen the show and I'm not familiar with the music with the exception to the song "Written in the Stars." But my husband's school is doing it as their school musical in the Spring and he's the musical director, so he bought the CD. It wasn't quite as fun to run to as Wicked is. It's more serious, I guess. But maybe it will grow on me.

AP: 8:38. Splits: 9:47, 9:37, 8:06, 8:11, 8:10, 7;42, 8:43, 8:41. I meant to slow down a little more on the cool down miles, but those miles are slightly downhill and that pace felt comfortable at that point.

Yeah for naps! Good job on your tempo miles too!

Good job. I never thought to run to Wicked. I'm going to have to look that up...but first a nap for me too!

Sometimes we need naps more than 'shreds' :) Keep up the good work...awesome paces on your run this morning!

Great splits. Your next HM is going to be a good PR.

I'm using FRB as a distraction from grading...not good.

But nice miles today. It's good that the faster pace felt comfortable at the end--it's not the downhill, it's that you are a strong runner who takes some miles to work into a fast pace.

I can't listen to music that I don't know well when I run. I need something that I can partially ignore. I would focus too much on absorbing the new music.

Nice pace on the tempo miles!! Way to work in a nap too!

I love naps too ... I have not had one in so very long ... I hope to nap a lot over the Christmas break. I, like Tracy, am using the blog to distract me from grading final exams and write grants. Thanks for your help Carolyn ;-).

Nice tempo run!

As always, great run. I saw you about 10:30 this morning going to the high school. We went swimming. I hope you are enjoying working from home.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Wed, Dec 16, 2009 at 16:34:14 from 198.241.217.15

Ah, I was going to the high school to pick up Thing 1. The 1st and 6th period finals were this morning, but he doesn't have a 6th period class, so I was picking up him and his string bass. We were naughty and stopped at Lamar's on the way home.

I play the string bass too! It is by far the best instrument to play but one of the worst to haul around!

From Carolyn in Colorado on Wed, Dec 16, 2009 at 16:49:38 from 198.241.217.15

My husband and my oldest son both play the string bass. So while I don't play, it is my lot in life to haul these things around.

From Michelle on Wed, Dec 16, 2009 at 17:08:35 from 97.122.167.7

Lamar's is definitively tasty! We went two weeks ago with our family. But I've only had their doughnuts then and when you brought them to our Saturday run.
