Easy one-hour run. Average pace: 8:56. Shred level 2.

54°F, 57% humidity, wind 2 S.

I've still got a cough and some congestion but I decided to run today anyway. It felt good to get out and breath some fresh air and sweat. I hope I sweated all the yuckies out of me.

Those shoes really are magic. Or maybe it was the two days off and a week of sleeping in. But I got going faster than I expected today without really trying. Splits were 9:32, 9;23, 8:53, 8:44, 8:43, 8:35, with the last .71 @ 8:34. What really surprised me was that third mile was faster than the second because the third mile is mostly uphill and I often run it slower than the 2nd mile when I do this route.

It was also nice to be able to run later in the day and to be able to wear shorts and a short-sleeved shirt for a change.

I'll continue playing hooky from the sub-6 club next week because my kids have fall break and I'm taking the week off from work. I was thinking about going to Utah next week, but I don't think I will. I think we'll stay home, save the money, and try to get some things done. So next week I'll sleep in and then get up and run whenever I wake up.

I'm glad you're feeling well enough to get out and get a good run in! Nice splits and enjoy your week off next week! The sleep and late running will feel like heaven! :)

So glad you were able to get out today. I'm sure it felt wonderful! Next week sounds nice. Enjoy!

I love that feeling when the pace is faster than the effort dictates.

Good to see that a few days off did you well! I like when I don't have school/work (or they are both later in the day) then I can run when ever...it is a nice change!

Ahh yes, running whenever you wake up is a nice treat. So you're loving the Nike Lunaracers, huh? I need new shoes because it feels like the forefoot air pocket has popped in my Nike Zoom Structures. Maybe I'll try something from the Luna line.

I would LOVE it if you would come run on the big dry creek trail with me! Maybe next week while you have a flexible schedule? I will have an easy day on Wednesday because I'm going to go run with a group in Boulder on Tuesday for a hard workout. What does your Wednesday look like?

I could do that on Wednesday, Nan. What time would you want to run? Send me a PM with your address and phone number and we can work out the details.
