Easy Run + 8 x 10 sec. hill sprints. Average pace: 9:14.

Shred level 2

42°F, 96% humidity, wind 3 NNW, light drizzle, fog.

The fog made it seem even darker than usual. I would estimate that visibility was less than 1/4 mile. It was especially weird doing the hill sprints because there are no street lights in the green belt and so it was very very dark on the hill. My head lamp helped, but only so much.

I was okay for most of my run wearing shorts and a long sleeved shirt, but just as I began the 6th mile I turned north, which was colder because of the wind, even though it wasn't a strong wind. I picked up the pace a little bit more at that point in an effort to stay warm. Splits were 9:34, 9:18, 9:14, 8:54, 8:50, 8:25. Paces for the hill sprints were 6:47, 6:45, 6:20, 6:40, 6:39, 6:43, 6:43, 6:26. I think this is the first time that all of my hill sprint paces have been in the 6s. I think it helps that they were 10 sec. instead of 8 sec. because it gave me a little more time to get up to speed.

I think that today was the warmest morning I'll have all week. It looks like morning temperatures are going to be in the 30s for the rest of the week and last I checked, I might have rain tomorrow morning.

Well stay warm the rest of the week!!

Congrats on the hill sprint victory. You're right that the 10 seconds probably helps you reach your speed!

Your hill sprints are really getting consistently faster. Great job. Your overall speed is really picking up.

Nice work...those hill sprint splits are AMAZING. We need to call you Carolyn, queen of the hills! Stay warm the rest of the week...cold weather always forces me to sleep in and hit the TM! :)

Nice going. Especially so early in the morning. You seem to be doing a lot of those hill sprints, no wonder you're getting faster.
