Tempo run of sorts (not as fast as I hoped it would be).

7:35 am, 28° F, 57% humidity, winds calm, light snow.

I ran on the snow-covered Highline Canal Trail with Nan this morning. A huge thanks to Nan for driving down here on the snowy roads to run with me today! I enjoyed running and talking with Nan this morning, but I felt bad that I didn't have the strength to get going very fast. I was really tired for some reason. Maybe I should blame it on the weather. The trail had about an inch of snow on it and it was more slippery than I thought it would be. I very nearly fell one time, but managed to stay on my feet. My tracks in the snow revealed that I don't pick up my feet very much when I run. I should probably work on that.

AP: 8:37. Splits: 9:08, 8:39, 8:20, 8:20, 8:38, 8:35, 8:50, 8:28.

After the run, Nan and I both enjoyed a piece of the fabulous wheat bread that Michelle made.

That's a proper good pace for a snow run. I guess. Go Nan! You can't trust her though. Remember how you told her about one of your old boyfriends? She told me. After doing some searching on the world wide web, I found a picture of the two of you. I will be posting it tomorrow on my blog.

Burt, I think you've been smoking too many 'shrooms. You're hallucinating.

Great snow run. I am glad you were able to run with Nan. The trail can be pretty slippery, and I have never ran on the trail while it was snowing. I'm glad you didn't actually fall. I had a piece of the same bread for breakfast:)

Mr Sno and I bought sheet metal screws for my old Triax 12's and I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do on ice/snow soon. (http://www.skyrunner.com/screwshoe.htm) I think your splits are amazing for those conditions!!

Burt, you are too funny!

Funny? How so? In a good way or bad way? Mind your step Sno, or you'll end up on the wall of fame/shame. ;)

I probably should have worn my Yaktrax today. I'll wear them tomorrow.

I wonder how the screw shoes compare to Yaktrax.

Nice run...I think your pace is great! Especially with the snowy conditions.

From Snoqualmie on Wed, Dec 23, 2009 at 13:52:54 from 24.18.192.33

I'll let you know. What I'm hoping is that the screws will feel a little more natural (the Yaktrax sort of squeeze my feet unpleasantly), and that they will do better in terms of snow accumulation (do you get that?).

From Carolyn in Colorado on Wed, Dec 23, 2009 at 14:05:18 from 198.241.174.15

Yes, I get snow accumulation with the Yaktrax.

Nice run, glad you had a good food, good friends run - they are always better than just a normal run! :)

From JD on Wed, Dec 23, 2009 at 17:20:17 from 70.96.78.157

Nice run/pace. I notice that about my tracks too. I seem to "drag" a little. It's even more frustrating when I see another set of tracks and the runner has such perfect foot placement, no drag, and longer strides than me!

From Tracy on Wed, Dec 23, 2009 at 18:42:22 from 173.23.75.96

Good snowy run! That's a nice pace when you're worrying about slipping!

From TBarlow on Wed, Dec 23, 2009 at 21:57:38 from 216.194.124.36

Wow-great run! Running in the snow is always tricky! How fun to have a good running buddy! I am going to run the Beat the New Year in SL - hope to see you there!
