Long run.

7:00 am, 31° F, 46% humidity, wind 4 SSE.

Busy morning. The Highline Canal Trail is still covered in snow, and so Team Michelle and I opted to run the streets around Highlands Ranch instead. I ran the long way to Michelle's house (the other Michelle lives next door). It was just over 3 miles. Then the three of us ran 10 miles together, and then I ran home a shorter way, about a mile and a third.

AP: 9:33. Splits: 9:20, 8:55, 8:52, 9:38, 9:49, 9:42, 9:37, 9:35, 9:52, 9:52, 9:50, 9:54, 9:50, 9:12, 0.46 @ 8:58.

Team Michelle and I, as well as another friend, are registered as a group for the Canyonlands Half Marathon lottery. I hope we get in. Also, the Michelles are talking about running a marathon next year. They seem to have caught the marathon bug. I'm excited for them. Also, they've been running 3 days/week for about a year and now they're going to move up to 4 days a week. Now if I could just get them to join the blog . . .

I had some other stuff to do right after my run. I'm just taking a quick break now to post my workout.

Wicked-good miles today. The weather was perfect today, I thought. Of course, I didn't get to run in it, but I jealously thought of all my friends who did. Great jorb.

Great run!

I am trying to get some people to run...no luck so far. I didn't know they were only 3 day a weekers. Not that that is bad (i was there last year) but one of the other bartenders was asking me, "do you think if I run I will lose a lot of weight?" I had to tell her what weight? You don't have weight to lose! So she argued with me a bit. Any who in the end I offered to run with her and she says, "NO WAY! I WOULD DIE!" I"m like I am not a fast runner. But I suppose if I could convince her to run 3-4 and then I could do some more on my own....sorry this was waaay longer than I wanted it to be :P

Is 14 one of your usual long runs when preparting for a full marathon? I assume right before you do a 22 or 20 miler?

From Carolyn in Colorado on Sun, Dec 13, 2009 at 23:02:44 from 24.8.167.243

April, I'm not in a formal marathon training plan right now. I'm just running base mileage. I'm doing medium-long runs on Saturdays, 14 or 16. It's been mostly 14 lately.

Nice work Carolyn, keep at team Michelle, let them look at your blog and see how fun it is...they'll come around eventually!

Carolyn, something for me to shoot for!
