Easy run, but not really easy. Average pace: 9:22.

Weather: 53°F, 76% humidity.

I didn't have any pain on this run, but didn't feel as peppy as I would like to. But I can't complain. Each run this week has felt better than the one before. I did a couple of short fartlek-type bursts on this run to see if I still had legs. They went okay, but I didn't get going very fast and it wasn't for very long, just a "to that tree" kind of thing.

I didn't work any on the quilts last night. I guess I needed a night off after working with them all evening for the previous 3 nights. But now I've got to really work hard this weekend and get them done. Thank heavens for a 3-day weekend. However, I do have to go up to Boulder for a while on Monday morning.

I've been totally out of control with food lately. I've really got to stop it. I need to force myself to keep a food journal again and really be serious about it. The pounds have been creeping up on me. It wasn't so bad when I was running 55-60 miles a week, but it's bad now.

I hear ya on the calories vs. mileage! I think I've finally caught my runaway train and am reversing it. Good luck!

Sounds like your running is coming back nicely. After training so long and hard for your marathon, I don't think a week of running less and eating more is going to really hurt you in the scheme of things, probably good in a way, less chance of feeling burned out. You'll start feeling back to normal by the end of next week - at least that is how it usually has been for me.

What Mark said.

Have you decided whether you are going to do that trail marathon in CO or come out to UT for Top of Utah? I signed up for ToU and am curious to know who else is planning on running it.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Mon, May 25, 2009 at 13:32:02 from 71.229.164.25

I think I need to stay at home instead of coming to Utah for another race in the fall, so I'm planning to do that trail marathon in CO instead of ToU. I would like to do ToU, but it's more expense and time away from home.
