Easy run. Average pace: 9:35.

Weather: 33°F, 80% humidity, wind 5 SW.

I had VERY HEAVY legs when I started out this morning. It took about 4 miles until they were loosened up and felt a little better, though never great. I guess that 22 last Friday really took it out of me. Or maybe it was all the junk I ate over the weekend. I've really got to get back on the wagon in terms of eating right.

I took a nap on Saturday and slept in on Sunday and as a result, I had a hard time going to sleep last night. That accounts for my short sleep time. But since I got up early this morning, I should be back on schedule now.

Did you have ham, or salty food? That always makes me feel heavy. Those are great miles to start your week. Are you consciously tapering yet, or waiting until next week?

I had pot roast. And donuts. We had donuts for the Saturday choir practice and there were left-overs. I have a weakness for donuts.

My marathon is 5 weeks from last Saturday, so I'm going strong for 3 more weeks including this week, and then doing a 2-week taper.

Oh, I messed up - I thought you had a race the same weekend as mine. Well, you're in great shape then!

I love how even when a run starts with heavy legs, after a few miles they start feeling better. It's not me that's addicted to running...it's my legs. :-)

Nice run today!! I really need to get some longer runs in. I can't believe how fast the marathon is coming :) I really don't feel prepared.
