Easy run. Average pace: 10:25.

Hooray! I was able to get out and run today. My leg felt fine in terms of the pain I've been having the last few days. However, I felt generally sluggish. It's interesting to me that I would feel sluggish, rather than fresh, after 3 days of rest. I suspect I'll feel better tomorrow because of having done an easy run today.

I'm glad that I've got an easy week in my training schedule this week. It makes it easy for me to cut back even more and really take it easy. I don't feel like I'm missing any key workouts.

I just watched a small thing that did my heart good. My two youngest (a 6th grade boy and a 1st grade girl) go to the same elementary school and ride the bus together. I sent the girl out the door first this morning because the boy was still getting his stuff together. After the boy went out the door, I went upstairs and watched them through a window (I can see the bus stop from there). My daughter was standing a ways away from the other kids at the bus stop, who are mostly 3rd-4th grade boys who stand there and throw rocks at a fence. She's probably smart to stay away from them. My son hadn't reached the bus stop yet. But when he did, he went and stood by his little sister until the bus came. I was just happy to see what appeared to be my big boy looking out for his little sister.

That's great news. I'm sure the easy week will do you some good.

Glad you were able to get out! And it's great that you can tweak your plan accordingly!

Holy crap, you almost made me cry.

Yes, I'm a guy. Yes, I'm manly (sort of). I love my kids though and even hearing about little moments like that makes my head swim. My oldest (10) is that way with my middle son (18 mo.). He is so protective. I love it.

Nice that you are back to running again. I've definitely in a low cycle myself. All you can do is push through. I'm sure tomorrow will be better.

Glad you were able to get a run in today, unfortunate injury but it came at the right time. The extra rest will probably serve you well in the long run.

Good to see that you are back to running today. I'm sure you will feel even better tomorrow.

Love hearing about siblings getting along. Mine seemed to do good until they hit the teens LOL

So how did that pain in your leg go away so miraculously? It must be because you're surrounded by good things. Healing often comes in the things we see. Blame it on your 6th Grader.

Hey edrickt. It just got a little better each day for three days, and then the pain was gone. I think taking a walk on the second day and a short easy run on the third day actually helped. I'm really lucky that it wasn't something serious.
