Easy Eight on the MacArthur Ranch Road loop.

5:24 am, 31°F, 67% humidity, winds calm. It snowed very lightly for about one minute during my run.

I really started out slowly this morning and it took me quite a while to get going, but it turned into an unintentional easy progression run. AP: 9:46. Splits: 10:38, 10:32, 10:10, 9:58, 9:31, 9:15, 9:13, 8:56. I had a little pain in my right shin for the first couple of miles, but then it went away.

I don't think my son is going to run the Turkey Day 5K this Thursday because he's sick with a sore throat and bad cough. We kept him home from church yesterday and I'm going to keep him home from school today. He had an extraordinarily busy week last week rehearsing and then playing in the orhcestra for a play his school was doing. I guess it was more than his body could handle.

I was going to drive to seminary today and have the other guy drive tomorrow (the kids are off school Wed-Fri this week), but the other guy came up to me at church yesterday and said that he wanted to drive both days this week and furthermore, he wants to drive 3 days/week all the time. He says that having to drive to seminary forces him to get up and gives him enough time to go to the gym after the seminary drop-off, but when he doesn't drive to seminary he sleeps in and misses the gym. I'm happy to let him drive 3 days/week because I run regardless of whether I'm driving, but I can either run longer or head out slightly later on the days I don't have to drive to seminary.

I just noticed something when I went to the website to check the start time of this Thursday's race. Here's the URL: http://www.highlandsranchchamber.org/td5k/. In the picture on the main page, right in the lower-left corner, in the purple, is my running friend Michelle #1 and I'm right behind her looking dorky in a light blue hat and a dark blue hoody. The picture is from last year's race.

Nice run this morning!! It's great that your neighbor wants to do the seminary drive more often, looks like a win-win for both of you!

Nice miles this morning. And hurray for having a little extra time now that your neighbor wants to drive.

I was actually up at 5:30 this morning. I wish I could say I was out running, but instead of was shoveling walks around the complex.

So you have snow today, jun? We don't have any snow in our forecast for the next 5 days.

Yes, we got pounded by what I can only call a blizzard yesterday. It only dropped about 4 - 5 inches, but the roads were really icy this morning because it was so wet. I got to spend about an hour of it helping some friends unload a moving truck as they just moved up from Grand Junction. Cold. Glad you aren't going to get the storm.

You don't look dorky! You look like you are concentrating (and staying warm). Hope your son gets better soon.

I love the new title of your blog!

Your run this morning sounds like a great run. Cold and early, but great.

Great deal on the help with seminary driving! I'm with Metcalf...sounds like a win-win.

Loved the pix on the website. It looks like it was a cold day last year. What's your forecast for this year? No snow, but hopefully warmer.

Hope your son is better soon, and that the sick bug leaves your house without staying for a holiday visit.

It was cold last year, but I'm not sure exactly how cold. I could look back at my blog, but I wasn't recording temperatures back then.

Here's the forecast for this Thursday: Partly to mostly sunny and mild. Morning lows are forecast to be from 23 to 28 degrees, afternoon highs from 53 to 57 degrees.

The race is at 9 AM, so I'm guessing it will be in the mid-30s, maybe as high as 40 at race time. But it doesn't look like there will be any snow, so that's good news.

You do not look dorky at all!!!! You look great!

Sorry your kiddos are gettin' sick, at least there are only 2 days of school this week!!

And I would encourage the man to drive 5 days to seminary, then he can work out 5 days instead of 3!! And you can run longer.

Have a great day!

Nice work as usual Carolyn! I'm glad you get a little extra sleep and/or miles. It will now benefit both of you!

Loved the pic, VERY nice! Quarantine the boy so you don't get sick, and I hope he is back on his feet again soon as well!

I love when people volunteer to do more for you!

And you look like a blur in the pic! SpeedyMcSpeedster!
