Easy Eight Super-Sized + Level 2 Shred.

5:31 am, 34° F, 48% humidity, winds calm.

This was the third day in the row of exactly the same temperature and similar humidity during my run. The only difference was I didn't have the wind today that I had the last two days.

I did the Broadway loop, which takes me almost to my office, but I did it in the opposite direction that I normally do. So instead of starting with rolling hills with mostly downhill and finishing with a long, gradual uphill, I started (after the first mile or so) with a long, gradual downhill, and finished with rolling hills with mostly uphill. I think I like it better this way. While the rolling hills that go mostly uphill are steeper and probably have more total uphill than the long gradual uphill, I prefer the rolling hills because I at least get a little relief periodically.

I have trouble getting myself up and out the door as early as I ought to on days that I don't have to drive to seminary. So I'm a little behind schedule now because of my late start. But I have a little cushion because I'm working from home so that I can go to a little Thanksgiving lunch with my daughter at the elementary school.

Glad you got your run in, and a little extra sleep. Have fun at the lunch! Those elementary t-day lunches always crack me up! Marshmallows, fruit snacks and crackers...where could you go wrong? :)

Actually, the menu is turkey (probably chunks) and gravy over mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, cranberry sauce, a roll, and a sugar cookie. I'll have to have some marshmallows, fruit snacks, and crackers when I get home!

I guess your elementary schools know how to REALLY do it! Ours are usually MUCH simpler and with food kids will eat up.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Thu, Nov 19, 2009 at 11:55:06 from 24.8.167.243

This morning, my oldest son, who is a senior in high school now, said that the Thanksgiving lunch was his favorite lunch when he was in elementary school.

From The Quiet Pirate on Thu, Nov 19, 2009 at 15:09:25 from 24.199.205.252

I always looked forward to the thanksgiving lunch when I worked in kindergarten. We would be the "pilgrims" and the pre-k kids would come dine with us and be the "indians." We had the parents bring in the food, and it was always really, really, good. One year we had a whole extra turkey left over!

I like rolling hills better than a long straight climb too. My positive attention span doesn't always outlast the long hills.

Hope you enjoyed your lunch with your daughter. :-)

JD, I think you just think that I'm insane.

From auntieem on Thu, Nov 19, 2009 at 19:27:05 from 67.182.145.8

Insane is fine; no judgement here. Hope you enjoyed the brunch, Carolyn. OH, wow, as I was typing this, some really really cute sharky slippers appeared on the bottom of my screen! I hope you can see them too. I want them.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Thu, Nov 19, 2009 at 20:15:03 from 24.8.167.243

Yes, I do see the cute slippers. I wonder what word initially made that ad show up (it will probably keep showing up now that we're writing about slippers). Maybe it was the word "cushion" in my original entry.

Nice run Carolyn!
