40 minutes on the elliptical.

My training plan was beckoning, "Come run hill repeats. Come on, it'll be fun." But my knee is still bothering me just a bit and so I ignored the training plan and drove to work and used the elliptical. Also, I didn't get the laundry done and didn't have clean outdoor running clothes. I have to say, I hate the elliptical more than I hate the treadmill. I could not wait for that workout to finish.

I think I may try to run tomorrow, but not the 10-mile progression run that's on my schedule. I'm going to tentatively move that to Thursday and do today's planned workout tomorrow. It's supposed to be 2 miles easy, then 6 x 1 minute hill repetitions, and then 2 more miles easy. I think I'll use the 2 miles to run to a certain hill that I'm thinking of, do the repeats, and then run home. That really doesn't sound too difficult to me.

In other news, my husband and things 1 and 3 are all home from work/school today because they are all sick. I'm glad to be at work and away from them. So far I'm feeling okay in that department.

That's interesting. I always thought I'd like an elliptical, but maybe not? My friend says, "that's the machine that does the running for you." Hope you stay well!

I'm with you on the hatred of the elliptical.

I'm proud of you for listening to your body rather than the training plan. You seem to have a healthy mindset: you work on your goals, except you know when to adjust your training (harder or easier) when it's right for you. I know that's hard for you.

Hope you stay away from the germy people in your house!

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Tracy. But I'm not sure how healthy my mindset is. I try, but it's a struggle. It's a lot easier for me to make my training harder than it is to make my training easier. But I wish I was as devoted to eating right as I am to working out.

I hope you knee gets feeling better. Make sure you take it a bit easier on your run tomorrow so you don't stress in any more. And don't get sick from you family. I'm usually pretty luck... all the family can get sick but I don't :) I think Mom's just can't get as sick as the rest of the world.
