Personal:

I'm married with four children.  I run with a group called the Bingham Butt-Kickers, a really fun group of people that gets me out running early on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and sometimes Saturdays.   I recently found out that I've been running with poor form for many years, which has probably contributed to some nagging aches and pains I've had for years.  One of my big goals now is to be able to run with better form and to have running feel more effortless.  I hope this won't take too many years to achieve!

Well, what can you say?  Some days of running are good, some days (most days?) not so good.  I've had about a year and a half of not so good days, frustrating days, days when I've wondered if my best days are well behind me.  Finally, today, I had one of those good days.  I finally hit some times on the track that I was able to hit fairly consistently two or three years ago, but just haven't been able to do recently.  We ran 800's and after the second one, I decided to try and pace off of Cheris and Michelle.  That's when I was able to run some fast times (for me).  Here are the times, and in parantheses are my times from two weeks ago, just to compare between then and now:  3:25 (3:35); 3:24 (3:27); 3:13 (3:29); 3:17 (3:29); 3:14 (3:30); 3:18 (3:29) and 3:10 (only ran six last time).  That 3:10 is my fastest time in about two years.  So needless to say, I was happy about this workout.   Now I need to work on endurance.

You did so great today. Those are some fast 800's. Way to go Cheryl.

Cheryl, nice workout, bring back past conditioning, tough as he.... Hope you have a good sTG. It seems your right about the endurance, what has been your long tempo run pace this training season? It seems long tempo runs may be an indicator for the marathon. Do you have a pace/race plan?

Julie--thanks, you did great also. You're going to have a great SGM.

Brent--lately my tempo runs have been about 8:30 min/mile. I don't really have a pacing plan. I don't like having pressure to hit certain times because then I sometimes start too fast and then crash and burn later in the race. I like to start out keeping things fairly comfortable, then pick up the pace as we go along. We'll see how it goes. I should do better than last year anyway. See you at the dinner!
