AM: With Radda closed, we met at Blue Star Cafe at 2300 E/2800 So.. We had a group of 10 or so. Four of us split off for a little longer route through Holladay--Erik L., Aimee Larkin, Lisa Madsen and Johanna Nielsen. The girls were running strong today. My legs felt dead and I wasn't feeling particularly spicy.

We finished back at Blue Star, which was blasting some bad generic alternative metal band over the speakers. It lacked the Radda coziness. Next week, we're trying Grounds for Coffee at 2100 E/3300 So.

PM:  After work, I ran from the office up Memory Grove to the horseshoe, turned around and headed back down, then on to 4th Ave. Stopped at Hatch Family Chocolate  and picked up a couple of sweets, then finished the .75 to home carrying the small bag.  Total of 5 miles.

Hmm, chocolate. My kind of run!

So are you seriously considering doing WBR now? What about Logan Peak race?

From Chad on Fri, Apr 11, 2008 at 11:53:05

Yes, definitely considering WBR. Still need to make plans with the family and arrange to sleep the rest of that week. If I do that, Logan Peak is pretty doubtful for me unless I do it as a "fun run," with the emphasis on "fun" and virtually no emphasis on "run."

From Jon on Fri, Apr 11, 2008 at 12:37:38

I don't think WBR will knock you out sleep-wise as much as you think it will. I've never had too much trouble with it, certainly nothing that affected me more than a few days later (much less a full week).

Besides, aren't all trail runs "fun runs"?

From Chad on Fri, Apr 11, 2008 at 12:53:16

Yeah, I'm exaggerating the sleep thing, but it is a factor.

From Superfly on Fri, Apr 11, 2008 at 13:34:26

Chad it would be awesome to have you for WBR. The sleep thing is kind of a factor but a good 14 hours in the sack right after the race is over and you'll be ready to go for the next one.

From Jon on Fri, Apr 11, 2008 at 13:38:27

14 hours? You must need/get more sleep that I do, Clyde. I think I take a 2 hour nap Saturday, then sleep maybe 8 hours that night and I am good to go.

From Superfly on Fri, Apr 11, 2008 at 13:49:22

Not me. Last year after the race was over we got a room up in Park City and my wife and I both were out for about 5 hours that same day and then a solid 10hrs that same night. It felt soo good. Rule number one if you can swing it... have a room at the finish.
