Short-Term Running Goals:

Now that I'm (almost for sure) done having all the babies, I'm working on building consistency and seeing how fast I can get in my old age. ;)

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'd like to be a healthy and relatively injury-free runner for the rest of my life.

Personal:

I'm married to Eric (Faceless Ghost on the blog) and we have very active daughters and one dog. I have a PhD in sociology and demography, and I'm incredibly grateful to have work that is meaningful and that builds on my academic experience. I run because it makes me feel strong and it helps to keep the crazy away (there is a long history of abuse and mental illness in my extended family).

We're nearing the end of the semester, so it's been a pretty busy week. I think next week might be a little worse (I have to write the final for my class and grade final papers and Eric starts his finals), but after that it should be a lot better for the rest of the summer. Also, remember how Elliott doesn't really eat food? Now we go for food therapy appointments once a week.

Anyway, Monday was in the morning and Tuesday was in the evening at our gym. Wednesday I didn't wake up early (since Elliott doesn't eat food she wakes up a couple of times a night to eat, and Tuesday nights are my nights) and was going to that "what it's like to be gay at BYU" panel in the evening, so after my class I took Elliott to the gym day care for the first time. I was afraid that she'd come away with scratches on her face or bite marks from another kid (hugs to RAD :), but everything was fine and she seemed to enjoy playing with another baby there (I didn't love the toy she was chewing on, but whatever). Today I woke up with a sore throat but popped some ibuprofen and had a lovely run to The Green Hornet at the cardio cinema.

I saw a video on FB today about BYU leaving behind their homophobic past. Good stuff.

Nan! I missed you! Yes, I love that video. Those kids warm my heart and make me cry and stuff.
