Short-Term Running Goals:

Now that I'm (almost for sure) done having all the babies, I'm working on building consistency and seeing how fast I can get in my old age. ;)

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'd like to be a healthy and relatively injury-free runner for the rest of my life.

Personal:

I'm married to Eric (Faceless Ghost on the blog) and we have very active daughters and one dog. I have a PhD in sociology and demography, and I'm incredibly grateful to have work that is meaningful and that builds on my academic experience. I run because it makes me feel strong and it helps to keep the crazy away (there is a long history of abuse and mental illness in my extended family).

Last night was the MBA spouses' club opening social so I didn't run. I probably could have after, but I was feeling pretty stuffed full of chicken and cake and stories of how women or their babies died or almost died (made me feel bad for the pregnant women at the table - those stories are a thousand times worse when you're all pregnant and hormonal), so I just stayed home.

It was raining for the first half of my run but it wasn't too bad. I did the first part of my normal run but there were crowds of people walking to the game and I didn't want to turn around and run past them again to get back home so I did a little loop on 900 E and then back down some road. I liked it because I was going uphill until 2.2 instead of about 1.9. And it ended up being about the same distance at the end as normal, anyway.

8:47, 9:04, 8:19, 7:29 for .84, 8:27 ap.

I'm probably going to order new shoes tonight or tomorrow. I'm thinking launches or kinvaras, but I'm curious about the brooks pure ones (not the connect - I hit on the outside and not the inside of my forefoot).

wait, wait, wait...hold the phone! Now, I've been a bad blogger I know...but is this an announcement? Are you all hormonal and pregnant or am I reading this wrong? I couldn't pay attention to the rest of the entry...too curious about that now! :)

Is this why you haven't blogged for a week?

Very much not pregnant. :) There were 3 pregnant women at my table, and during the whole story time I kept remembering how those stories would set me off when I was pregnant. So I was feeling bad for them. That's all. :)

I haven't blogged in a week because I haven't run in a week. :( But I've got plans for tomorrow morning.

whew...okay. Well, enjoy your plans tomorrow! I now will be checking up to make sure they get done :)
