Short-Term Running Goals:

Now that I'm (almost for sure) done having all the babies, I'm working on building consistency and seeing how fast I can get in my old age. ;)

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'd like to be a healthy and relatively injury-free runner for the rest of my life.

Personal:

I'm married to Eric (Faceless Ghost on the blog) and we have very active daughters and one dog. I have a PhD in sociology and demography, and I'm incredibly grateful to have work that is meaningful and that builds on my academic experience. I run because it makes me feel strong and it helps to keep the crazy away (there is a long history of abuse and mental illness in my extended family).

Today was kind of a weird day because I worked from Provo. I never get as much done when I'm not in my office, and by the end of the day I felt frustrated and depressed and like I couldn't possibly do all the things I'm supposed to do. But after we were done at the gym I felt completely better and like everything was going to be okay. I'm so grateful that I can exercise. It really keeps me happy.

We (mostly just me) wanted to go to a yoga class at 6:45, so I had to run a bunch faster than normal to fit in 4 miles before the class. It made me feel good to remember that I'm not *that* slow. But then the yoga class was a pilates class instead, so Eric decided to skip it and I only stuck around until I remembered that pilates is kind of hard.

You are definitely not SLOW! I'm wanting to try the 8:30pm yoga class at the University Gym on M and W since my other yoga class got cancelled.

Thanks. I *feel* slow, though, when I see so many people whose marathon paces are faster than my best 5K pace. But I guess almost everyone's slower than someone else, and it's not really productive to do the comparison thing.

I didn't know there was an 8:30 class. There's a 9:00-10:00 class at the 9th East gym, but that's kind of too late for me. Maybe we'll try to catch the 8:30 one sometime.
