Short-Term Running Goals:

Now that I'm (almost for sure) done having all the babies, I'm working on building consistency and seeing how fast I can get in my old age. ;)

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'd like to be a healthy and relatively injury-free runner for the rest of my life.

Personal:

I'm married to Eric (Faceless Ghost on the blog) and we have very active daughters and one dog. I have a PhD in sociology and demography, and I'm incredibly grateful to have work that is meaningful and that builds on my academic experience. I run because it makes me feel strong and it helps to keep the crazy away (there is a long history of abuse and mental illness in my extended family).

At the gym. The first 6 were in the Cardio Cinema with Ocean's 11, and the last 6 were in the main area with Grey's Anatomy. The problem with my Kinvaras is that, while they're great shoes and I loved them a lot pre-baby, my feet got bigger with pregnancy and I didn't buy a bigger size when I got a new pair last year. And Eric keeps telling me to buy a new pair of shoes in the bigger size, but it's not like money grows on trees for us. So now there are a couple of spots on my left foot that rub on the shoe. I almost stopped after 10 miles today because of one of those spots, but then the blister popped and all was good again. 9:30 miles, 1.5 incline for the first half and 1.0 for the second.

I think I'm going to try to go back to the Altras next week. I love how much room my feet have in them. And I went almost 300 miles in them before my knee started hurting, so probably it's not like I'm going to put them on and all of a sudden have knee pain again. If the knee pain's even related to the shoes. Though my knee didn't stop hurting until I switched shoes, and since then I haven't had any pain at all. But I hate to blame the shoes. They're so comfy. But I hate being injured.

12 miles inside on a TM, nice work! Way to keep going even with the sub-par shoe conditions, it would have been easy to stop. Keep it up! :)
